Is this a juvenile frog? I read somewhere that it's common for younger pac-man frogs to do this and how you can prevent it is to provide a sloped land area.
My frog is 8 years old this year, he's never done this.
I've always provided a damp moss area that he sits in most of the time, maybe it's sloped enough for him. I don't know.
yeah it's sloped,it's weird,it's like it's trying to play dead...yes it is a juvenile.
I'm not an expert but I think I have read somewhere that it could be because your frog has a leg injury causing it to jump stronger off one leg and flipping him. Does it look like there's anything wrong with one of the legs?
Pacman frogs fed crickets need them to be smaller crickets. A baby pacman frog can swallow a large cricket but the spiny legs seem to kill the frog. I have seen 7 of 12 specimens fed this way die overnite and my partner has similar experience.
The breeder uses 3 week old crix for new metamorph frogs.

I came online to ask if I can feed a young Pacman larger crickets and I saw this post..
My Pacmans are still real small. Theyre all a bit larger then a quarter. Is this still to small for the larger crickets?

A quarter is 1" a one in pacman frog should be fed 3 week old or medium crix. I would never feed a large cricket to any size pacman frog.
In a natural setting (in the wilds of Argentina) they would be eating vertebrate prey. Mostly other frogs but a rodent or bird would also be taken and consumed.
I know it is not accepted practice on the internet to feed mice to these frogs. They get overweight easily. If the body weight is maintained carefully to avoid obesity mice make a perfectly suitable diet. I recentley handled a wild caught Ornate Pacman that was 15 years in the collection of my customer. She fed fuzzies every forteen days about nine months a year. Three months of winter domancy was normal for this specimen. But it did eat mice for fofteen years.
Just my opinion and I accept others will have different ideas.

With small pac man frogs, it may be better to use small fish like livebearers as these are a good food source for the frogs.
It is easy to overfeed using rodents as they are calorically denser than than equivanlent sized cricket. For example, a small pink may be as long as an adult cricket but it will weigh four times as much as the cricket indicating that there is signigicantly calories per gram than is found in the cricket.
