This is what happens when a wood worker runs out of places to put his snakes. Really I just wasnt happy keeping them in the rubbermaid sweater boxes. A post before where someone had some stacked cages was posted temps on the higher cages was brought up just in time as it made me think, and I had to go back and add more ventalation to get the temps that I wanted with each cage. The heat transfers up but not as much as you would think. It took several days of watching temps with no snakes in the cages before I was satisfied that I had it right. Plus I added two thermostats for just in case. Lighting was done with small halogen 20 watt lights with a dimmer switch to control them and the heat they produce. So far so good all seems to be running just right. In the center is my incubator with all the controls as well. Installed a small radio shack fan for air circulation a theromostat for temp control and a small tray for water in the bottom for humidity. On each side of it is a plce for three shoe box type rubbermaids. I now have it up and running and it all seems to be right on track. I'll have to take a couple of new photos. When I started this thing I didnt realize how much hardware ( temp gauges, dimmers, thermostats etc....) I would need. Thinking it over now I think I could have come out cheaper just buying one. LOL. Lets hear what you guys think............
