I have had a healthy, happy blizzard gecko for a few years now, since he was a baby. He has never had any problems before even with shedding but now his eyes are shut. They have been shut for a week and it is worrying me greatly.
I really can't afford to take him to a vet at all, but I don't him to go blind/be in pain/die. He is still eating and doesn't seem particularly lathergic or even put off, its just those eyes are always closed.
He did seem to be having a bit of eye trouble before they shut, but only something I noticed in retrospect. He closed them/squinted a lot. Ahh I'm so confused!
Any idea of what might be wrong with him? Infection, shedding, parasites? What could I check for? If its a shedding problem, might it fix itself with the next shed? Are there any home remedies that might help with any of the things it might be?

Thanks!

this is usually a sign of dehydration. give him a sauna, fresh water, from a dropper if necc, and a drop or two of Gatorade. And make sure its just not too bright for him.

And if it dosnt get better or start showing improvment very soon take it to the vet. I dont know where you are from but my local herp vet only charges like 10-15$ for an office visit and meds and other work is very reasonable, That much money you could pan handel at the local 7-11 so there is no reason he cant at least get in for a fast visit to get a vet advice.
