Anyone seen Mike Price's Suboc Article?

It's in Reptiles and is 9 pages long and full of really good photos and info.

Definitely liked that article. Probably the best article in there in the last year or more. I especially liked seeing again Chris Harrison's photo of a ticked off suboc. I hope someone else puts another ratsnake article in there real soon.

I bet they have a bunch of ratsnake articles, but won't put them in until it's convenient.

I thought it was a good article too. I like all the distribution and ecology and behavior info. Gotta get out there one of these days and start seeing them in the field.

High Plains ratsnake...

Yeah...I remember seeing Chris's photo here on Kingsnake. And the subject line was something like, "Another docile, even-tempered, calm suboc in the wild". LOL
Ofcoarse there is always a few out there who want to ruin their own "nice-snake" reputation. They must have read Darwin's books about "survival of the fittest".

That's one of the best articles I've seen in a long time. Good photos too. It's nice to see an in-depth look at a specific species.

It piqued my interest so much I had to read it 3X. My wife's letting me get a 6th and final (so she thinks) snake for my birthday (passed already 3-15) and after reading that article I'm definitely interested in a suboc! As of late I've been unable to find any breeders. Only place I saw on here was Exotic Pets in Vegas. I'm going this weekend, but is $130-$150 standard for a suboc? Anyone know of any good breeders or would it just be advisable to wait for a show?

I know quite a few suboc breeders. Follow the link below to the blog. My advice is to start with something young and definitely captive bred.
The prices of CB subocs run the gamut from about $60 to several $$thousand, but you can definitely find a nice one for that amount.
Good luck...and definitely go through a breeder (not a pet store), if you can help it.
