Here's a few pictures of my guy/girl. It was born in July 05 and I got it on 9/30. I take it out every few weeks for a weight and general health check. Normally I put it right back, but today I decided to take it out for some pictures and sun. Today it weighed in at 81g and I don't measure length.

Just wanted to make sure that it's size is normal and it seems like the color change should be occurring shortly. The red color is starting to lighten up significanly, but no new colors have started. But it hasn't shed since 1/30 so I am hoping that something cool will show up after this delay. Thanks for checking him/her out.

Nice little chondro. Yours was hatched at the same time as mine. They look very similar too! I'd say yours is of good weight. I keep forgetting to weigh mine if I have it out, but I'll take a measurement next time. I don't expect mine to start changing until it's at least a year old. Probably longer like my Sorong was.

Mine was as dark as yours in the picture when I got him. He is definitely a lot lighter then he originally was. According the Greg's book that is the first sign of a color change.

I just wish there was some sort of growth guidelines for chondros like there is for Ball Pythons. I know when my BPs are (x) months old they should be (y) weight approx. With my chondro I have absolutely no idea. Thanks for checking him out.

I haven't found a single species of snake that follows the rules as far as growth and weight are concerned. I can get pretty close in general, but there's always one that will completely mess up your theory. I have one cornsnake that's probably half the size of the rest of mine. She eats every week, has been vet checked and given a bill of health. Still, she's the size of some of my 6 month olds. She's pretty much the same size as my baby GTP who's only 8 months old and she's nearly 2.

I know there is no obvious set in stone growth curve for any animal. I know that from my ghost bp. He was born in Oct 05 and weighs in at 425g with one a week feedings. My pastel female was born the same time with the same feeding schedule and she's like 310g.

I was looking at chondroweb.com and some people have yearling snakes that are 80g or less. I guess mine is just a big boy/girl. It just went serious blue last night, so hopfully some colors start to show up soon.
