Hatchlings vs. yearlings!!

mkco79 Mar 15, 2006 11:40 PM

Hello all! I was wondering what you all think the main and biggest differeces and concerns are of geting my first ball as a hatchling versus a yearling. I heard that takeing on a yearling rather then a hatchling would be easier. Just curious on everyones thoughts.

Has any one ever used cork board/sheets as substrate for any type of rep? I am thinking of useing it for a leo gecko. Not really a python question sorry about that!!

Thanks,

You can't go wrong if you buy captive bred, personally I would get a hatchling, that way they will not be aclimated to a certain feeding routine or housing situation and they can get used to your setup much faster.

If either are established, I don't see any problems.

Ive used cork board for as substrate for my Bearded Dragon, the only problem I had with it was cleaning and sterilization. Also it doesn't hold humidity well, but that didn't matter in my case.
