Hovabator Price ?

BeArDyCrAzY Jul 28, 2003 12:59 PM

I'm planning to purchase a Hovabator, the thermal air flow model (is that a good model for incubating lizard eggs?). Well i checked at the closest petstore to me (Port Credit Pet Center) and they are selling the thermal air flow hovabator model for $145.00. Is this a reasonable price? or are there places where i can buy the same model for cheaper? Thnx in advance to all who reply!

Did you check out LLL Reptile (www.lllreptile.com) or www.herpsupplies.com? They usually have better price than pet stores.

From what I've found, the 1602N model is the only one that can go down below 90 degrees. Others can't, even though they advertise being reptile-friendly. The 1602N model shouldn't cost you more than $40. It's on eBay for $43, shipping included. (If it costs you anymore than that, you might be buying the turbofan model, which you don't want to get.)

Port Credit pet center is in Canada near Toronto, so that price was in Canadian dollars. I myself live in the Ottawa area, the best price i was able to find was at a feed store and the price was still $120.00. I ordered one from The Bean Farm same model as you said with some miner-all dust, and it cost me with shipping about $110.00. Service was great. LLL reptile is supposed to be set up to ship to Canada. When I checked 2 weeks ago they said it would be a couple weeks before they'd be able to ship to Canada. They have good prices also.
Hope this helps, good luck.

I recently bought mine from Herpsupplies.com for around $50. It arrived in 3 or 4 days after I ordered it. I don't recommend the turbo-fan model though, cause it will dry out your eggs. If you still feel like spending $145, I'll gladly sell you mine!
