Was wondering what those who use them think of them.
I'm thinking about getting the 48" long cages and heard that they sag in the middle and do not efficiently retain heat and humidity.
Any opinions and/or advice is appreciated.
Thanks,

that mine does not always do a great job of retaining heat. I do love the ease with cleaning them out though. I will say that I am rather intrigued by the ones that Vision is about to release in 6-8 weeks. And the price on those will blow everyone away. I will be getting some when they come out.

Andy,
How you like like the new yearling vision racks? Doy ou like the heat rope and do you like it is safe? When I contacted them they told me that it was safer than heat tape, but I have heard others say its not to safe. Any other info on them would be great. Thanks.

The Vision rack was a great price...and went together very easy. The heat rope is working fine and I think it is safe. The rope is made by zoomed. I like the sweater box size for yearlings and I needed to step up the size for some of mine...this was cost effective for me. Now I hear they have a breeder cage comming out....Take care, Andy

I think the heat rope is better than conventional flex-watt for the racks because you can place more at the bottom and less at the top to create an equilibrium in temperature gradient. In conventional racks that tall, the top bins are either too hot, or the bottom too cold.
I would think the rope is safer than the tape, but I also think the tape is more reliable. That is, I would expect the likely hood of an age fault to be greater in the rope due to its properties.
My 0.02.... I’ve use heat rope a few times and on few different cages. I personally HATE IT. Different sections of the rope measured at different temps. The end was EXTREAMLY hot and I couldn’t even hold it where other sections weren’t even warm to the touch. I have rheostats going with everything I use. I don’t know if I stuck out 4 for 4 but I refuse to buy anything with heat rope which really sucks because I have 2 vision cages that I love and would have bought the ball rack with out even blinking but I had to go else where.
