How do you know if your snake is fat and

How can you tell? Is it bad to give your snake a rat that is still cold, not frozen just cold from being left out.

Cold is fine.

The pythons natural fat stores that should always be full are along the belly. When a snake becomes obese additional fat appears all along its body between the skin and muscle. You can feel this "pudge" with your fingers. When the skin easily dimples and you still can't feel hard muscle, you may be getting a fat snake. Don't worry about this if your snake is small or young.
