Leo Housing Alternatives...

tc_legacy Mar 16, 2006 04:38 PM

Hello,

Anyone have ideas for something in between plastic tubs and aquariums, for housing leos? I'd love to set up my adult leos in something more appealing than tubs and rack systems but aquariums are bulky and inconvenient to handle once you need more than a couple. Any ideas?

take a look at what LLL Reptile has to offer. it is a place near by me in cali. their catalog might give you some ideas. the website is www.lllreptile.com.

build a simple rack, it will be worth your while if your collection grows.

They are the best alternative because you get essentially the same space and display features of glass tanks but the convenience of stackability. On top of that, the cages open from the front, so a lot of shy leos are more comfortable being handled because your hand is coming towards them on their level rather than from above.

Check out these brands:
herpcages.com (better if you use under tank heating)
precisioncaging.com (better if you use bulbs)
boaphileplastics.com (for large colonies)

LLL sells Vision cages, but crickets can actually climb up the sides of those.
