Need some advise quick pls...

Jamie Mar 16, 2006 05:27 PM

I have a fat tail gecko at home and he has been breeding the last couple weeks, today I noticed his right hemipene was out about 1/4'...I gave him a soak in luke warm water and placed him on damp paper towel by himself but it has not gone back in. Want can I do to help him out and any advise would be great. I have been into leos and fat tails for a couple years now and this is the first time this has happened.

Thanks
Jamie

Soak him in sugar water, make it thick. Then put Prep H on it. Do this very often and keep him on the damp paper towels. If it doesn't go back in within 10 days I would take him in to the vet.

Although I'd vouch for a vet visit sooner, what you suggest might be okay. One thing important to add is that if the tissue looks like it's drying out, swelling, darkening in colour, bleeding, or otherwise not looking like healthy tissue, then take to the vet asap.
