Blood in Cage after Breeding

theboaguy Mar 16, 2006 07:32 PM

Hi All,
I was cleaning cages today and noticed that in both my females cages there was quite a bit of blood. They both had been with males for the last few days. I noticce this a little bit lasy year but this year there was quite a bit. Have any of you all seen this before. Any insight or info would be appreciated. I'm sure that the blood is from the males.

thanks,
theboaguy

Good Post

I have seen this on occation's over the years, but only with certain females.

remember the male has 2 hemipenes just incase this sort of thing happens.

I have had female's drag a male round with his hemipene still incerted.

keep a close eye on your snakes to identify where the blood is from just to make sure there are no other problems.

if its a hookup thing then you havent really got a problem.

I have seen the females drag the males around as well, but only in my kings. Of course the male had been going at it for over 3 hours and I assumed the female figured she had sat still enough!

I'll refrain from photoshoping a visual of that lol

It just adds to the proof girls are evil!
