A Q for those who have bred Jungles...

Kevin_Ivens Mar 16, 2006 09:54 PM

I think that the jungle morph is just amazing! I love the pastelish light colored abberrant jungles more than anything else. But only ever so often do you see such a jungle. Most are either highly aberrant with normal coloring, or very colorful with soft aberrations.

What I want to know is, when a an aberrant/non-colorful or non-aberrant/colorful jungle is bred to a normal (for example) , are the jungle offsrping still variable in color and aberration, or do they take after their parents??

Just curious...I don't find a lot of discussion on the jungle morph.

everyone gets their feelings hurt....

But in all honesty, I also like the jungles, but only the ones that you can tell are jungles with 100% certainty. The ones you describe, with the awesome color and abberancy together in one package.

You will see some nicer jungles in the future, it is still rather new. People are still having trouble distinguishing a jungle from a normal amongst the same litter.....

especially when other genes are combined.

Jungles of the future will be better, especially with selective breeding etc.

It is my understanding that non-aberrant jungles can throw very aberrant jungles and vice versa. The color factor could be a bit more tricky, not sure on that one.

I have a non-aberrant / high color breeding an EBV red group right now... hopefully they take and I'll have some emperical data to back it up.

I would definately like to see if that theory holds true. I have been contemplating whether or not to get a jungle and that information would really help me out. Please keep us posted! Thanks

I love the jungle trait mostly because there is a super form and because of the varying degrees of abberancies. I've have heard that it has been proven I have just not been able to find out who proved it. Does anyone know who has bred a super jungle to a non jungle. Is there any pictures of the babies. I believe it, I just want to see it with my own eyes.

First "Jungle" was actually a Super Jungle.
That breeding, and breedings done by the originator proved the Supers.

Just my two cents. When I bred my jungle to my albino none of the babies really looked like the parents. He might be super but I have to wait for the next litter to find out.

You can have a fully striped Jungle throw a non abberant litter and a Jungle that is on the tame side (no abberancies)can have the VERY abberant off spring.

Good luck
