Hello all,

Hubby is looking into making cages for our snakes. I am not so worried about the corns as they are doing fine in their tank. My concern is when I get my BRB. If anyone has a good site to recomend for building a cage for a snake that needs BRB humidity please pass it on. Since I am not in FL anymore it is more of a concern to me. When I last owned BRB my set up was fine but it would not work here in TN. I used a glass tank last time with glass top but that wont cut it here in the colder weather. Not to mention I cant find them here either. I want to get this cage done before we get our new baby. Plus hubby is bored after work with nothing to do. One thing he is thinking is making it out of Oak. To me that seems very heavy although it would look nice. This will be a first for him so any help is much appreciated. It will only be for one snake I am not planning on getting into breeding.

Mine are oak and my BRB's are doing fine. My first had formica on the floors only, the latest is fully lined with formica on the floors, walls and ceiling. I use them as breeding cages, the pipes on the outside are blocked except for breeding season when they are allowed to mingle

One key factor for humidity is not a lot of venting, each section has a 3" vent.

Old pics, now each section is like the upper right with a moist hide and a large water bowl un top. The shoeboxes were some babies on hold and there were also a pair of BP's in one section.

Nice cage a bit more than I need. LOL What we are after is making a living display cage that would be in the living room. It is just the 2 of us no kids. You mentioned the vent where is a good supplier for them? I am having problem with what we should use for heat. Right now we have heat emitter bulbs since I do not need light for the cage my 2 corns are in. Ofcourse this would not work for BRB. Any suggestions here.
