Your snakes are Boa Constrictor Imperator, Colombian. They are not True Redtails. Also that retained eye cap is bugging me.

BelgianBeer Mar 17, 2006 03:03 AM

They are normal unless sold to you as hets of some kind.

ChrisGilbert Mar 17, 2006 08:03 AM

simply because Colombian Boa constrictor constrictor are so rare, yours are most likely not BCC. Also, they appear to be just common Colombian BCI (Boa constrictor imperator).

Also, they are not any type of morph, and you wouldn't know if they were hets unless you knew what the parents were.

I hope this is what you were looking for.

PS: Were you able to remove the eye-cap on your boa?

So are you saying mine are just common columbian boas compared to columbian red tail boas wich they were both sold to me as for 400$ CAN each.

Also i have tried everything to remove the eye cap and am just waiting for the next shed to see what happens

What you have are Common boas "Boa Constrictor Imperator" definitely NOT ColOmbian True Redtails "Boa Constrictor Constrictor". I have been breeding boas for more than 20 years and can definitively tell you they are not BCC of any locality, Colombian or otherwise.

As you will find out, TRUE Red-Tail boas are considered to be Boa constrictor constrictor BCC, and B.c.amarali BCA.
BCI are not Red-Tail boas.

I can not comment on the price, because I do not know the market value in Canada. I also don't know the age, sex, genetics, or bloodline of your boas; or who produced them. All these things can affect price.

In the U.S. a Colombian BCI could go for $70-$600 for normal.

True Reds are B.C.C. but Amarali are short tailed boas, NOT True Redtails.
