He's right , that and the fact that the larger male in theory will be able to breed several more females than the smaller male , why simply because the males tend to go off feed and the smaller male will be out of steam before the larger male , the end result is that the large (likely older) male will almost always produce more offspring than the smaller one.As for your qustion I would pay double for the larger one if it was something I wanted to try and produce as many clutches as possible with , something as common as a Pastel male wouldn't do it for me but a large Spot Nose , Calico, Lesser , Pinstripe or something a little more rare would be worth more if it was say 1200 grms instead of 500-600 grms, sure the small one could breed , but good luck producing alot with a small male , the larger one will likely produce twice as many eggs for you, and still not have any trouble getting his weight back on for next year...
