glass or plexi...?

highendhabitats Mar 17, 2006 10:40 AM

Hello everyone. I have a technical question. For sliding doors is there a lower cost alternative for tempered glass that is almost as strong but less expensive?
I am building a few cages for some people who want glass as opposed to plexi. One wants sliding, the other wants hinged. Any links or suggestions for glass hinges and locks that do not require holes cut?
Thanks Carey

Look for "laminated" or "Safety" Glass. Double the strength of normal not quite the price of tempered. It can be drilled if necesary however I use sliding so I don't have a hinge source.
