How many of you keep F/T'd in the same fridge as your food?

OK, I'm working at a bit of levity here.

LOL. I do. I keep a whole drawer of mice (many diff sizes) in my freezer.
I also keep the different worms for all my reptiles in my fridge with my food. They have their own shelf as well.

I DO
They are just as edible as the rest of your food in the freezer.

Its whether you have the balls to eat them.

raisnok Mar 17, 2006 04:19 PM

I hosted a poker game the other night. One of the players went to the refrigerator and came back to the table with a beer and shocked look on his face. He informed the rest of the table "Whatever you do, DON'T look in the freezer."

It was right after I got a $165 order from RodentPro.

a relative was at my house and saw my mice in the freezer, and asked why i had them in there..... i told her "well they make the ground beef last longer"

complained so far. And I wouldn't invite anyone to my house who would complain either!

But you have to be careful. Those mouse hairs can get stuck in your teeth if you heat and eat the wrong package!

jyohe Mar 17, 2006 06:57 PM

now I am thinking of the ice cream at your house scenting the mice.........and your snakes are hooked on strawberry and chocolate flavors...........

I tried freezing rats in the same bag with mice to hopefully have mouse scent "rubb off" onto them for my ball that wont eat rats.....It back fired.....now he wont eat the mice that smell like rats.....oh well!!

draybar Mar 17, 2006 06:19 PM

yes, they are in the kitchen freezer with everything else.
Soon I hope to get a large storage freezer for the basement. They will be kept in there but there will also be food for human consumption.

There is a quote with someone's signature, can't remember who's, but it goes something as follows.

"You keep mice in your freezer!?"
"Would you prefer I called them cows?"

something like that anyway
I always got a kick out of it.

I do. I actually have very little "people food" in my freezer, as there is not not enough room with all the frozen rodents. Ialso have a dead kitten in there...........

i keep mine in the freezer with my food, i have the mice in bins, like a mini rack system in my freezer....LOL

Scottyo2u Mar 18, 2006 12:40 AM

Yes I do. I keep them in a baggie on the side of the freezer right next to the ground beef. And why not the mice smell like hamburger.

When I had my first corn I was experimenting on the best way to thaw the mice. I read somewhere online that you could nuke them on the lowest defrost setting. I gave it a try and I guess my microwave was too powerful because after only a few seconds it blew a hole in the side of the mouse. When I opened it up it smelt just like hamburger. Yuck!

Yup! They're in the same fridge as the food. Haven't you ever heard of mouse mousse?

Actually, the best comment I've ever gotten was from the UPS lady that delivered my last mouse order: "The Gourmet Rodent???.... I don't want to know." I looked her right in the eye and said, "Barbeque this weekend; wanna come?" She turned slightly green until she realized I was kidding.

I do..rats, mice, pinks..everything!! The best thing is is that my fiancee doesnt mind either!!!!! I keep enough to feed 3 corns, 1 king, 1 hog, and 4 balls for 6 months. Just have to be careful what you reach for in the dark though..LOL
