AFRICAN RATS

BlakeDeffenbaugh Mar 17, 2006 11:29 PM

Just me thinkin here but if all of you are so interested in these things wouldnt you post all this about these "african rats" in the " Feeder Food Discussion Forum"? That way people that breed them or know people that breed them can actually give you info on them??
I mean it just makes more sence. If anyone breeds them they most likely would be in there. . . not here.

This is the Ball forum not the Rat forum. Someone might get mad and I'm SURE Tosha will say something here. I'm not trying to be mean or make people mad but I know I'm not the only one tired of seeing the forum being cluttered up by them.

So let me be "set straight in my ways", either way wont stop thinking it and neither will several others.

Likewise, if it bothers you so much that people talk about African rats, you don't have to read those posts. The African rats are particularly appropriate to ball pythons because they are a major food source to ball pythons in Africa. That's why they receive so much attention on the ball python forums.

Not being a breeder, I'm not all that excited about seeing pictures of everyone's eggs. Right now, every egg looks pretty much like every other egg to me. However, when I don't feel like reading those posts or seeing those pictures, I just skip that thread. If a time comes when I'm breeding, I'll be interested in the egg posts. Until then, I can still be glad that the forum is providing information and an outlet for those who are breeding. During this time of year, I skip a few more threads than I otherwise would, but that's okay. Skipping threads that don't interest me without criticizing those who post them doesn't hurt me, and I'm sure that it wouldn't hurt you either.

All the best,

Bill

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

I agree with your post and I like how you put it.

I honestly don't have the time to read every forum. I haven't been to the feeder forum in ages, in fact I rarely go to the ball python sub forums. So I'm glad that most threads are started here and stay here.

It's so much easier to just check out the one forum that you enjoy most.

What do you contribute to the python community? Why does your opinion matter? African rats are very important animals, specifically to ball pythons because its what they would eat in the wild. You need to keep your comments to yourself, because noone really cares anyway. So if this forum is just ball specific, then shouldnt we take out any post reguarding feeding and move those to the feeder forum, and also any posts about housing, and move those to the housing forum? We could probably go as far as to say we shouldnt post anything here about ball pythons, because that belongs in the python forum. What does it hurt you to look past the posts you dont want to read? If your not interested in pics of breeding and not interested in posts of them feeding, and being said you know all about ball pythons, then what do you look at the forums for anyway? I agree with Justin, you want the African rat posts to stop, only to create another post on African rats, sounds pretty dumb to me.
