interested in savanah monitors..help

i was wondering...what is the best monitor for a beginner at monitors...i was thinking savanahs but im not sure. Im not new at herps, but have only had chameleons and bearded dragons and geckos and snakes, nothing this big...thanks!!!

i wouldn't go with a savannah. i would go with an ackie monitor.

Do not even bother with it. There are MUCH better choices. Please do not support the WC pet trade.
If you're insisting on something big, go to Pro-exotics web site and take a look at their Black Throats. They are hardy, hard to kill monitors that are fun and generally even tempered.
I would reccomend Ackies. They are fun, social, and realitively easy to care for.
Most importaintly, do your homework. Go to ProExotics and read their caresheets.

Oops,wrong pic Do alot of research before you get anything(even a tattoo)but Ackies are probably your best bet.
