Hello, I am thinking of buying Female jackson for my male. I have had him for about 1.5 years. Is there anything I need to do differently as far as care. My male lives in a 3x2x2 cage. I am building 2 4x2x2 cages now. I have silkies, mealies, supers, roache and crickets readily on hand.Should I supplement her differently. I use herptivite and rep-cal. Igutload with alot of greens and fruit.Iwas thinking of buying from Nick Mole in FL. I read a few of your posts and you mentioned him if not there ,there is a show herein New York,New Jersey area at the end of April. How long do I quarentine them until I put them in the same room? Any info and experience you have to pass a long will be greatly appreciated. Judging by your posts you have had great success. Take care and enjoy the weekend Matt

I woudn't treat the females any different. Even in the same room as long as they have enough cover to break up the line of sight they'll be cool. Male Jackson's aren't nearly as agressive as are, say, Veileds. Even when introduced for breeding they take their time!

The cage dimensions you describe are more than suitable. When you do introduce the female into the male's cage (my preference) she'll indicate here acceptance. If she goes black camo and rocks and gapes - nada, if she remains green or her particular coloration they should begin copulation w/in 30 minutes.

As far as quarantine goes, Nick treats his imports nicely. Regardless, I wouldn't even do anything but work on its acclimitization for at least 6 mos. Good feeding and drinking patterns etc. ya'know? Heck, you might even get a gravid female w/out even knowing!

Good luck and keep me/us posted - let me know if you need more detail.

Bill
