Has anyone had luck locating ar females!

pfgreaper Mar 18, 2006 10:59 AM

Not the bring the huge conflict back up or anything, but was just wondering if anyone has had any luck. I sold off most of my collection but it seems I cant stray too far from the bps. SO I was thinking about getting a nice import that recently came into the local petshop. However dealing with imports already, feeding might be a little challenging. So after reading the threads posted I'm kinda hooked onto the african rat thing. Now the hard part is locating ar lol. So if someone has gotten lucky share the wealth. Thanks

it seems like theres alot of talk about these african rats, I have not read many of the posts about them, are they being imported from africa directly,if they are are they being screened for diseases that cause a potential problem with bloodborne pathogens let alone biological hazards, godforbid one of these rats bites someone and it is carrying a disease,I see that as definite fuel for the fire to stop our businesses and hobbies.if its about getting picky eaters to eat why not just use gerbils or good old fashioned patience and perseverance with the resources we already have.if a person is just looking for a quick fix to a problem it could backfire and be more disasterous than expected, thats just my honest opinion.

.they are brd here from colonies that were tested and certified pathogen free especially for the diseases that they are known to carry.......they are on the "monkey pox list"......

they probably do nothing that gerbils and hamsters(4 plus types) and Peromyscus can do......

yes....buy captives

yes buy odd imports and wait

yes..lose alot of money if the wild wierd ball dies......

if you don't have it to lose ....don't spend it......? right?

........

and by the way.....the capo called me and it seems that the "Godfather" actually doesn't want me to tell ....so you all have to go to Michigan I think it was that they are bred in the first place?

and man.......would we please stop talking about these stupid looking fuzzy pieds rats.......?

where are the bumblebee pics?...........
