T.o.luteola baby

Ok, I'm on a roll now. This is fun. Here's my prettiest luteola. I can't tell you how thrilled I am that I successfully bred these guys. I expected it to be much harder than it was. I obtained CB subadults from a breeder in Fl at the Daytona show a while ago. I guess since they came from Fl, they adapted to my humid NC climate breezily. They ate well, grew quicker than anticipated, and reproduced like clockwork. After this year, I hope to be offering established hatchlings to rescue groups locally in NC. If I can work out legality, I would be happy to send them out of state also. The problem is, it is illegal to sell turtles in NC. Unfortunately, I can not even accept payment of shipping charges in return for sending someone a turtle out of state. They'd have to pick it up, I'd have to drive it, or the laws would have to change. Fortunately, people are working to make the laws more conducive to captive breeding and distribution of CB stock. In a few years, most likely, captive stock will be the only legal source for this subspecies.

Ok I can see the differences in how bright the markings on the ornata are & how dull they look on the luteola, and that the luteola has no skin markings..
These are great pics. Thanks again for posting them.
