This is a baby T.c.c. that I hatched from eggs gathered out of a hit-by-car female. Not long ago, someone had posted a picture of a subadult that they called taupe I think. I immediately thought of this picture. In my area, I've seen several turtles like the one posted...devoid of carapacial markings aside from a keel stripe and a uniform "rust" color. I hatched this little one, and took a picture before it was released. I call this patternless because it seems like they have the background color of most Easterns without the yellow, orange, red, or other bright colored markings. I think they're attractive regardless. Sorry the picture isn't very clear. This was one of the first macro shots I took when we bought the camera.
