My new boaphile cages questions?

inletexotics Mar 18, 2006 04:01 PM

Well, you guys talked me into getting a stack of the boaphile cages and I got them yesterday. THEY ARE REALLY NICE!!! I just wanted to know when I should put my animals in them. They have a semi toxic smell sort of like spray paint. I just wanted to know if there is a way I should clean them out first or if it's just best to air them out before putting the animals in? I was also curious if these are totally safe without any ventilation holes in them? thanks again

Jeremy

I have them, they do have a smell but I put my snakes right into them with no ill effects. I have the shoe box racks, sweater box racks and 421D cages. They all have the proper ventilation and maintain better humidity than anything else I have used. They are worth the wait and worth the money in my opinion. I just ordered 16 more expandable 421ds with double heat. I cant wait to get them. Best of luck.

I got a bunch of them a couple of weeks ago. I let them air out for awhile (at least a day), and then sponge cleaned the inside. You'll find that there are usually some shavings from the manufacturing in there. I As far as ventilation: there is a 1/4 inch gap around the plexiglas door and the cage itself, which give plenty of ventilation.
You're going to love these cages!!

That's what I did as well.
