no rain today so I took him outside for awhile. He is getting a little to much to handle by myself. He was born in 2003. At what age do they slow down on growing???

that's awesome! can't wait for my tic to catch up, what do your neighbors think?

jerry Mar 19, 2006 10:02 AM

My neighbors have watched him grow over the last 3 years & are impressed with him. Only the one neighbor that moved in last year, has been negitive about him. I was here first-he can always move again : )

Is that the same snake you posted pics of at work in S.F? If it is I guess you don't live in the city? I do so I can't take my snakes out like that. San Francisco is messed up!

I only work in Frisco-I live in Contra Costa County-no laws about the snakes as long as your not in city limits

Your neighbors must love you. LOL Awesome snake. I've been fantasizing a bit recently about owning an animal like that, but I want to be good and ready for the responsibility. I'll just admire yours for now.

did you have to hook train him to get him tame?

jerry Mar 25, 2006 07:15 PM

I do have to use a hook to get him out of the cage-he seems to be territorial in his cage. Once he is out, he is pretty mellow. I do keep the hook nearby though-I advise that anyone that keeps "large" snakes have a hook.
