Best not to feed him on a substrate, due to the risk of impaction.

Thanks Walt. Yes, I cleaned his feeding box out last night. I read every post today on the Alterna page. Had some time to kill. I just put a regular paper towel in there. Thanks for the advice.

Great looking snake. I have no choice but to feed my snake on substrate . He wont eat if I put him ontop or the thawed hopper ontop of paper towel or remove him from his tank and put him in plastic box he gets very spooked .
He eats great but ONLY if hopper placed in his hide area and hide area not moved .
I use 50% dry soil no chemicals,etc and 50% shredded coconut.
I imagine in last year he may have ingested some but he is fine.
