I saw black milks at San Antonio zoo

chicagopsych Mar 19, 2006 08:09 AM

Is the large one, on display, the same one that started the "San Antonio" line? Does anyone know how old he is? He was huge and his scales are now an uneven faded bluish color, either from age or size. He looked indigo size. Very cool to see in person.

Any pictures? How do they have him displayed? I've only seen the pic of him in the old Vivarium article.

I did not take pics because they were behind glass that made the flash reflect. The display was very simple. A large glass enclosure in the corner. The funny thing is I completly forgot that San Antonio had them. I was just in town and decided to go to the zoo. I made my girlfriend go into the reptile house with me, not expectng to see anything I have not seen a thousand time before. I saw "black milk snake" on the sign and took a look. Only when I saw how large the one was did it hit me that I was looking at the original milk of the San Antonio line!
