I know I've heard some of you say that your females have ovulated and then not layed until much later than the standard 50 days (give or take). But how often does that really happen?
My girl was due to lay on Thursday or Friday and looks no where near ready to go. I know two days over is not really a big deal, but she seemed on track - ovulated 1/25 - shed 2/14 and has been in perfect coil since then - she has been restless lately and I've seen her do the egg adjustment several times over the past week (thanks to Mark & Jayne for putting a term to that interesting folding LOL) But still no eggs. Temps are good, humidity is good (bumped it up in anticipation), she's all nestled into her little nest.
Is this a usual thing? Anything I can do to move the process along? My clutch last year came a smidge early and with as much fidgeting as this girl has been doing I really thought the eggs would be here on last Monday.
It is true a watched pot never boils.
