Rack Size

reptilicus81 Mar 19, 2006 04:51 PM

We just bought a 6-7 foot female Dumeril's today. She is very docile, but much larger than our 15 ball pythons! Right now we have a ball rack from Vision that holds 32 qt sterilites. What size tub would an adult female dum need? She is in a 71 qt. underbed right now. Also, I am having a hard time finding good caresheets on the species! Anyone have any favorites?

Thanks!

And she probably looks extra big as I am only 5'3!

I just had to say that is a beautiful Dumeril.

I don't think I have any favorite caresheets, I just read everything I could find and took it all with a grain of salt. Also the breeder I got mine from was a great help.

Thanks! I just had to get one! We are currently breeding ball pythons, and they really are my ideal species, but there is something about a Dumeril's that just makes you stop and stare! BTW I measured her in at 70 inches and she is 4-5 years old.

Yes, they are an amazing boa. I hadn't planned on getting a boa at all, but once I saw my local breeder's dumeril's I was lost. My male, Autumn, is only about 9-10 months old and 3 feet long, I can't wait till he fills out more and reaches full size, there's just something about feeling them curl up around you and holding on... all that strenght in such a beautiful and very natural looking package.

great lookin' gal. i like the Dumeril as well. seriously, dums dont need much. water, hide, and substrate. dont need high heat or humidity. i would suggest anywhere from a 40-55 gallon tank for your dumeril. mine is approx 5' and is in a 66 quart sterilite right now.
