skyliner Jul 28, 2003 04:56 PM

i promised a pic of spike and here he is in all his glory. As you can see he has lost 99% of all his spikes due to bad sheds and also unnoticable is he has no front nails at-allI've upped the humidity so thanks for that alissa, also i'm working a taller enclosure but i feel it could be for the worse due to him always falling off his branches! It's a bad pic but you can make out the snout damage.
see yah and thanks again Alissa!

whoa...bad bad condition. The Petco that I go to, to get my supplies and by my animals has a Dragon that looks like that, but it's a juvenile. It is all dark and no green and has the snout damage, poor thing.

i don't think it looks all that bad.. yeah its dark brown in the pic but it is also a shaded pic.. and those injuries like snout damage and missing spikes are old issues.. he actually looks pretty good for a rescue jason....i'll try to get you a pic of my poor suzie..now there is something to pity..was on a ton of meds for everything a baby cwd can have and now it is stunted and 13 inches at 3 years....i took rick gordons advice and got acidophiliz to aid in his digestion and i hope that will put some wieght on him....if that doesn't help well then i give up...in the past three years alone i have spent more time and money in the vets office with suz then all my lizards combined and that is a lot believe you me...but i think we are finally over the hump.. he is starting to fight me when i try to give meds.. never been so happy to have a squirming water dragon in my whole life

is acctually quite healthy, what i did fail to mention is that he loves to dig in his dirt and then go for a swim then dig abit more so he gets kinda dirty!Plus he is going through a shed right now so he is kinda murky looking anyway

and his snout damage is barely noticeable from that angle...and i kind of like him without his spikes.. it gives him sort of a ruff and tumble look...very cute...if your worried about the cage height and him falling don't make it taller.. if two feet is all he can handle then great....is he a friendly guy??? i just adopted joeyp's water dragon (which is very healthy and chubby) and he/she hates me..lol.. i'll give her time..its kind of cute in a bite my hand off kind of way.. well good luck with him and keep me posted

I've NEVER seen her even come close to biting, but she is VERY VERY jumpy, she'll jump at the slightest movement towards her. You have to come up to her very slowly. If you give her "the run of the house" so to speak for a while she usually calms down. Oh and one other trick I learned. If you're trying to move her and she keeps jumping away, the trick is to hold her up very high. She really enjoys heights (you may notice she'll run to your shoulder, or to the top of a chair), so when you finally manage to get her, if you keep her 4 or 5 feet off the ground, she's less likely to take off running, and damn can she run fast!! BTW how's she doing, I've never seen any pics of your's up so I'm guess you don't have a digital camera, but if you do (or get one) I'd love to see some photographic updates (or even just worded ones).

she just gives me the evil eye alot ...yeah i don't have a digi cam.. i have some really old ones of spook and meako but i don't know where i put them.. i will however keep you updated and try to post pics from film for you.. she is doing great.. loves all the vines and stuff in her cage.. she did try to bite me after the car ride home but that is just because she is scared.. i don't think she slept much last night because when i went to check on her at 1 am she was still awake.. she is sleeping now though..and she ate like a champ today..i think she'll adjust fine.. she'll get to come out tommorow when i clean her water dish.. and i also had a little trouble with the mister timer.. but that is all worked out now... she should be in her big cage in the next two weeks i'll post pics of that and the cage....ohh and i'm borrowing a digi cam this week to take pics of my beardies .. i'll try to get a couple with her in cage for you..
