PTS yellow "plug"

dancetoday Mar 20, 2006 10:01 AM

I've seen posts in the past about this sort of thing happening but I don't see how to search these forums anymore individually. It seems to search all of them. I found a yellow blob, about two inches across that looks like cooked egg yolk in with my trio of Prehensile Tailed Skinks a few days ago. None of them look any different or act any differently since it has happened. Is there anything I need to know or do about this? Thanks.

Hi Lucy,

This is an undeveloped embryo or ovum (some folks call them slugs). We have seen them with live-bearing reptiles of all sorts.

Hope that helps,
Morgana

Yup , most likely a slug, I have found them as well in the past (always disappointing when trying to breed the little buggers)

My female recently passed her first plug. Is there anything that I have to watch out for? Are there any health risks invlolved that I should be made aware of? She has been very defensive every since she passed it. Thanks for the help, jrbl
