what is a blue motley, is it a nickname for some type of motley or a new morph? I thought i was up to date with all this stuff.

I bought a pair and they were sold to me as "Blue" motleys.

Why would someone call a lavender motley another name?
The value would drop ten fold.
A Lavender motley would be worth much more then someone's self named blue motley.
I doubt seriously it is lavender.

I would need better pics to even hazard guess.
I have a ghost that has a sligth purpleish tint to her.
It could just be a an anery with a slight blue or purple tint.
Not sure but lavender motleys sell for around $150.00 to $200.00.
Did you pay that much?
try to get clearer pictures and we will see what we can figure out.

Jimmy, blue motleys are a very light phase anery motley that originally popped up in the collection of some guy in, I believe, in Slidel, LA. He lost most of them, and the rest went supposedly to the nice folks at Bayou Reptiles, which calls them light motleys. Not sure of the exact origin of the line being marketed as blue motley.
There is some speculation that this may be another new mutation. I know that several people are working with them to try and figure out what is going on. I believe that the males generally have more pink coloration. Some of the ones I've seen photos of are really unusual. I agree tht at first look you tend to think lav motley or ghost motley, but once you compare a few pictures of them, you'll see the difference. There is definately a bluish tinge to them, as opposed to the brownish tinge of most anery mots.

Interesting.
I think I mentioned in a previous post that I have a nice little ghost with a bluish/pupleish tint to it.

the reason I said that it was a lavender, was because it was sold as a blue, and the clors i can see in his picture, are similar to some of the lavenders i have seen in pictures, both on here as well as other places

My dad's cousin bought a pair of them about 1.5 years ago. They were sold at $60 apiece (after bargaining) and they are definantly not lavendars. They looked almost identical as hatchlings, but now one is more of a brownish blue, and the other is a really pretty grayish blue. I am not sure of their genetics, but they are also sold by Cornsnakemorphs.com. One thing I am puzzled about is the fact that I have never seen them sold as just blue. They are always motley. The other thing that annoys me is that my dad's cousin doesn't even plan to breed them! He is more of a python guy, just keeping a few other cool looking snakes around. (Not really a few, more like 20!) I really want some of the blue motley offspring! Oh well...
Sorry I don't have any pictures, maybe if I can get up there in the next few months...(wishful thinking)
