Question about the dull colors leos can sometimes have

ceroza976 Jul 28, 2003 05:05 PM

You know how even the brightest leos seem to sometimes get dull or greyish and not as brightly colored as before? I know this is due to stress, but one of my girls had been like this for a while. She eats constiantly and the temperature is fine, but she is dull than she used to be. Its not her getting ready to shed, as that makes the skin whiter but not dulling the colors. Anyone have any ideas how to help her get her normal colors back, i know this is kind of a strange post and i dont think anyone understands what im talking about but o well.
Thanks, take it easy

well... how are the conditions in the cage? mine get dull, but as soon as i take them out, aftera few minutes they get real bright.. i guess depends on the gecko...

my leo Beanie gets darker the week before she gets that "powdery" look the precedes a shed. and then she is nice and bright again for 2 weeks after the shed and then she darkens again. it can also depend on the leo's mood or health.

hmm, I see mine do this from time to time but they don't stay that way. I have a tang that actually at times looses her nice bright tang then it just pops up again?? You could try giving vitamins a little more often maybe. Sorry don't know what else to tell you. I have had juvies that were really nice and bright but as they reached adult coloration they dulled down quite some bit.

strangly, i took out most of the hides and let her run around in an open cage and let her crawl on me for a while. Seriusly, i dont know how it helped, but shes bright yellow now. I dont really know what happened, but i guess its fine now.
