You really need to start considering giving a lecture at the Daytona Expo. I feel it will open many doors and have a lot of people thinking. Alas, I am not trying to be bias but I think it would be the most interesting lecture at the event.

Myself and Nokturnel Tom will be your bodyguards. HA HA HA HA~!

You know I think it would be the hit of the Expo lectures. We can pass out flyers at the hotel lobby that say :THE FUTURE OF HERPETOCULTURE" "THE TRUTH ABOUT HYBRIDIZATION AND ITS FEARS" or something along those lines...heh heh!

Brian, you could also have a collaborate with someone who actually GOES to these letures. Henry Dean does and has an extensive collection and knowledge on hybrids as well. Also a pretty smart fellow.. see:

http://www.geocities.com/~henrydean/index.html

An example of other lectures you would be up against are like like "The chemical composition of a crocodlies tooth" and following your lecture "The diet of the frog eyed side neck turtle of the Amazon" (which would be something like FISH. WOW! Big duh)..I think your lecture will standout as a lot of people would come :

1) curiosity
2) haters
3) encouragement

You also consider that there is a lot more interest at a show like this in breeding then the academic stuff. Would be a hit IMO.

Sorry to put you on the spot like this Brian. But I know this would be very good for herpetoculture and YOU have the speaking experience as well as the savy to confront any questions and answers taken afterwards.

I appreciate the encouragement, but it isnt going to happen. Here is waht I can and will contribute. My writing and research skills as presented through my websites. I just dont have time to travel or attend these shows. I reallydont want to either. I work with a lot of animals and honestly, the snakes are my least important work, though one of the most interesting. My real work is in preserving important and non-deleterious genes in the domestics as a safe-guard for food production in the face of global warming. The snakes are just a fun little thing on the side. As I have always said, I am willing to work be3hind the scenes with serious breeders who are able to realize that the snakes are not, nor never will be, first to me and that I am busy and may disappear for months at a time, if important projects loom. For waht I am willing to give, which is the results fo my research and genetic knowledge, all I ask i9s data, pictures and enough interest to stayi n touch. I will never be ablet o be a herp-fanatic. I love them, but they are not going to feed my people when things get bad in the next few decades, but I am always enthusiastic about genetics and evolution, so am glad to work with people on their projects, regardless of the species involved, but since I am giving specialized information at no cost, then the person who si getting the free info needs to keep in touch and provide me with the materials I need to actually give them some sound information.
My website is going to provide a huge amount of information, if anyone can figure out how to apply it. I have the intro page finished, http://www.panopliagenetics.com/colubrid.html
I do not have anyof the articles prepared yet, but anyone is welcome to check it out and get a feel for what is coming.
I would ask al of you this. I need pictures. Please send me pictures of your animals for use on the site; pictures of locality animals, pure species, and hybrids. With the hybrids, I would like pics of the pure parents, the f1 and anything later. Through this, I can giv actual evaluation of those particular lines, which I can not do if I hjust ge ta pic and say, "this is a hybrid, tell me whats happening" or "this is blank x blank, tell me everything." I can do actual evaluations if I have the materials. I hope some of you have the interest to bother. I would also be willing to work with someone to prepare talking points for discussion as well as in preparation for lectures. All I ever ask is credit for my effort and the materials in regards to your work to not just be guessing.
It is fine with me if you guys want to use the posts I have made here, just credit them.
