How Long Do Babies Start Feeding?

Paradon Mar 20, 2006 03:36 PM

How long do hatchlings typically start feeding? I have a baby red-eared slider, and I think he/she is a newly hatched. I'm not sure how long it takes for them to absorb all the yolk before they start feeding. Thank you!

I have had them eat as early as 3 days old and usually no later than two weeks from hatching. Look at the tip of his nose. Does he have a little white speck on it? If so that is his egg tooth and he should be a fairly recent hatch.

Ok, thank you! Then I think there must be something wrong with him! I think he may be adjusting to his new environment. I thought you might like to know; I bought him from the flee market.
