Help!!! Weird lump on my king's side...

mattcbiker Mar 20, 2006 04:49 PM

My 8 year old Eastern King female has a bulge that has been getting bigger over the last few weeks. It's about half way down her side and I think just under her ribs. The lump is soft, but seems to move in to her body when I push on it. It is the shaped like an egg on her side. She's been eating very well, and it happened about the same time she started ovulating. She's been with my male king a couple times 2 weeks ago, and I think it's obvious that she is also starting to swell up with eggs.

A couple weeks ago it was not very noticeable, but after returning from a week away from home it has gotten much larger.

Any ideas? A vet visit is probably in the future...

I got a rescue Boa one time that had a weird lump on her side and it got bigger and 2 months later she dropped babies. Not saying this is what you have. Just a bit of anecdotal info.

Sounds like it could be a fat deposit.

Thanks for the responses guys...

I thought fat would accumulate evenly throughout her body, and not on in a soft lump that appears randomly when she's 8.

This lump feels like it is either air or liquid that is on top of her muscle, just under the skin. I'm taking pics and will have them posted this evening. Thanks y'all.
