i'm a little late......

flammysnake Mar 20, 2006 04:59 PM

i'm a little late on posting this, but my male veiled, mr. electric ocean, has passed away. i had a feeling it was going to happen, but when it did it was still a shock. he was keeping hydrated, but would not eat, and no matter how hard i tried to feed him, his little jaw would not open. when i called the vet again for advice it was too late, and he passed the next day. thanks to everyone for their advice and support. maybe i'll get another cham sometime? i'll still lurk the boards and post, since this is still the coolest board on the web. thanks guys(and girls). james

James,

I am so sorry It's OK, that you are late, we all need to post this sort of thing in our own time. I had just been thinking about you earlier today and was going to post to see how your guy was doing. Did the digging ever stop? It was such an odd thing to do and seems that no one was able to help figure it out.

lele,

thanks for all the support. he did stop digging after the vet visit, but he still spent some time at the bottom. i guess i'll never know what was wrong with him, but now he rests in peace in his shoebox coffin in the backyard.

thanks,
james

Hello I am sorry to hear about your cham . The digging thing was really odd did dr dalhausen ever try to explain it? I tried to hint around that because i live so close to you that I could prob help in person but I didnt realy hear back from you.Again sorry about your loss. I also know its prob hard to get back into chams espesially when you dont really know what went wrong,,,been there and done that. sometimes things are out of our control. keep checking the forums. I garentee you'll get back into it
good luck
kevin

i never spoke directly to the good doctor. i only spoke to one of his assistants(i guess) and they spoke nothing of his odd behavior. i know i'll eventually get back into the chams. i figure, i've already got everything i need to take care of them, a soon to be steady food supply(thanks to feeniee!) and even though i struggled, i still love animals(esp. chams!) and i won't let one(actually, two) bad experience keep me away from it. i know that lots of you had trouble to begin with, so why should i be any different? no disrespect to my fallen cham comrade, but i'm already plotting my next cham...we'll see what happens. thanks everyone!

James,

After a short breather and rest, I'm sure you might be getting some ideas stirring in that head of yours. Hope it doesn't take you too long to get back into chams.

(Man I love when I know someones actual name, instead of "Hey Dragoncamander3958"
