I'd get rid of that hot rock if I were you. Those things can get real hot and burn your snake. Its just common knowledge for Herp Owning 101 that hot rocks are not good.

I've known several folks whose snakes and lizards have been burned (fataly in a couple instances) by hot rocks. I took in a ball some time ago who had scars down half of one side. His hot rock developed a hot spot and he didn't move in time. They're among the worst pet care inventions ever.

Yeah, hot rocks are evil. Trust me, you don't want a burnt snake. It's not fun.

Do you feed it in the cage? Cause if you do, I'd suggest just putting down newspaper or paper towels, or something to keep him from eating off the substrate. Sometimes they can eat bits of substrate and get all impacted, and that's never good. Personally, I feed all of my snakes outside of their cages in shoeboxes (or any other appropriatly sized cardboard box). I know a lot of people who use plastic totes, too. You can wash those out, which is cool.

Nice ball...but fake grass can be iffy too...you will need to be careful of the edges because it can unravel and cause problems if ingested...just some humble advice. Good luck with your ball.
