hey guys im about to order 1 or 2 of jims pvc cages and im wondering which thermostat to get...im thinking about the herpstat...i also am wondering about night drop...what exactly does that do especially on the herpstat...does it just turn the heat panel off or does it allow u to input a night temp as well as the day temp...id love to have the night time temps drop but if it just turns the heat source off i cant have nightdrop cause my ambient room temp is 70-72....i want to be able to have a night temp and day temp but if not ill just adjust it myself probly every morning and night which isnt bad cause none of my lights are on timers....i manually do mine...well thanx for any help

Yes, the Herpstat night drop is totally programmable. It doesn't just 'turn off the heat panel'. It's also SOOOO easy to use, whether you want it to drop .1 degree or 20. You won't regret it, just like you won't regret Jim's cages.

I have Jim's 29" cage and I use a Ranco. It keeps the temps perfect(I double-check with a tempgun and its super easy to use. However,it does not have a night drop nor is it proportional, its an on/off, but.. it works well for me.
Good luck,
Nicole Corder.

I use a Herpstat and got the Night Drop with it. Works great, and like someone said before it's totally programable to whatever ur liking is.
