Tail sexers please help me (pics)

Kevin Saunders Jul 28, 2003 05:48 PM

I have an anery and an amel corn that I would like opinions on. Both were popped when I got them and popped as females, so I got some tail pics to make sure. If you could look at these pics and tell me if they both look like they are females or if one/both look like males, I'd really appreciate it. They're each about 2 feet long now. Also, sorry I don't know how to put multiple pics in one post. Here is the first anery tail pic:

I am by far no expert at sexing corns. I take mine to a local petstore to have them probed ,but when I look at all of the pictures you posted and compare them with my known females of the same approximate size, I would have to say they look the same to me.
So in my opinion I think females for all of them.
Remember this is just my opinion and only offered as an observation and not as fact.

I think that those look like females, mine has the same type of tail, but I hope you find out for sure.

Hi,
Both these corns look female to me. They have some what short tails and the tail tapers very fast after the vent. Both signs of a female. This is just my opinion and I think having them probed is the only way to be sure. Both of them look good btw.

Wow, I really appreciate all the quick responses. It's always nice to get multiple opinions. Thanks for confirming it for me-I just wanted to make sure. I'll be sure and get a pic of them together thanking you guys in the next day or two. My big male will also be glad when these ladies get a little older. Thanks again-you guys are great; I need to start hanging out in this forum again.
