Overdue layer ???

snakeman Mar 21, 2006 05:16 PM

My 17 year proven female ovulated on 2-8, pre-lay shed was 3-3. She is now on day 25 waiting to lay. I have never had one take this long to throw her eggs. She lays upside down most of time trying to position her eggs and just when I think this is her time she lays normal coil again. What is the shortest / longest time period for laying after shed????
Thanks Gary Liesen

Maybe I didn't count right - but seems like your girl did her prelay shed a bit early but is not due to lay until the end of next week. But some breeders say different timelines so I guess it depends on whos timeline you are following.

Anyway - I posted the same message below - it seems like there are a few of us awaiting our overdue layers. LOL mine was supposed to lay on Friday - still no eggs.

Good luck with her.
