ok, just curious, will a leucistic and leopard mate???
"Leucistic" is a term decribing an animal, in this case a lizard, that is solid white with black eyes. There are leucustic leopard geckos so,yes, they can breed with each other.
Quig
of course a luecestic is a leopard just patternless
That is what I thought. The kid at the petstore said they couldn't but I thought leucistic described color.... and since it was a leop gecko it would breed. The petstore has one for 80, is that good???
You betcha!!!
Quig
well it all depends on if the gecko is healthy or not. it should have a fat tail, and should not look dry and crusty. a lot of the time people dont give a rats a$* about the geckos and dont know squat. apparently they dont know spuat about them at that pet place. however if it looks nice go for it. i bought my babies mommies at a petco. i saw two adult luecestic girls priced on sale for $20 so i bought them. i actually got them both for $20 because the cashier only cahrged for one. here is a piture of one of my mommy and the babies.

Yeah, it looks great, the one guy there who does ordering and petcare is good. It is a petsmart. The guy that told me that is only 17, and seems to know not much except for monitors and snakes. Anyway, it look very healthy. I just wanted to make sure 80 is good since I did not see any leucs at the herp show.
Just wanted to chime in about the definition of Leucisitic. The definition of a "Lucy" is a mostly white animal (yellow is permissible) with NO pattern at all, and black/blue/grey eyes.
Good example of a lucy in the leopard world is the Blizzard Lizard. It is confusing though since there are other morphs labeled as "Leucisitics" that are not, they are merely HYPOMELANISTIC(producing less melanin than normal, to varying degrees).
Hope that this helps,
Dan
Just thought I'd throw in as well a few more facts.
True Leucisitic in Leopard Geckos(aka Blizzard Lizards) is a simple recessive morph. What that means is that in order for an animal to appear as a Leucy, it must inherit the trait from both the mother and the father. Both parents don't need to be leucisitic, they just both need to carry at least one copy of the mutant gene.
Zero mutant genes inherited = Normal
One mutant gene inherited = Normal Appearing but carries the mutant
Two mutant genes inherited = Trait Expressed as a visible Blizzard Lizard
