Do they need natural sunlight?

mack1time Mar 21, 2006 06:07 PM

Okay so all my snakes are in a bsmnt with no sunlight. My question is would it be bad to leave a red bulb or a blue bulb on for 24 hours if there was light emitting from the other tanks during the day although they are only heat lamps?

they dont need natural sunlight, but they should have a photoperiod (average is 12hrs light/12hrs dark).
if you need a bulb on 24hrs you can use a red or black bulb. i prefer the black bulbs because the red ones bother me, but they are not supposed to bother your reptiles.
