I know she's not to everyone's

LauraV Mar 21, 2006 09:03 PM

taste..and not a big hit here, but she is one I just love to take pics of. She is a natural in front of the camera...just wish my camera and skills were better! The flash washes out her orange. But, the orange covers her belly and extends all the way to her dorsal area.

This is her at her darkest, which I prefer when taking pics. Light is ok, but not eyepopping.

what people think about her at all; I can only assume that she has never been a big hit here. She rarely even gets a single response when I post pics of her. But, at least that is better than, "don't ever post pictures of that eyesore again!". No comments are better than that. So, I do appreciate the silence of all the tactful sirs and hers that have not loosed their tongues against her.

However, she isn't a stripeline and isn't a coral, I guess she just doesn't have a place, and perhaps because of that people don't know what to think about her.

But, I like unusual animals and will keep trying to add them to my collection, even if they are not to anyone else's taste. Of course, if I can't sell many of the offspring, I will probably have to re-think that opinion. One can't live off principles alone.

But, I will be bluntly honest.
She is a beautiful albino. I am sure people are green with envy when they see her and then they think......."Someday I'll own an albino like that."
Whether she's a cross or a normal she's a beauty. All that really matters is that you love her and want to share her with others. I am sure you are a proud owner.

One trap to really watch out for here is "responses". When no one posts a response it is natural to think either....No one wants to see what I've posted.......Or, They don't care much for it. Generally, nothing can be farther than the truth. It is amazing how many people actually look at our posts. There is a minority of people who actually post. Most just look. To prove this point look at other forums like Bob Clark's or Jeff Ronne's. The posts there actually show how many times your thread has been looked at. It's actually pretty staggering when you think about it.
Trust me. Many people post without responses. There have been many times I have posted my animals with no responses. It's a natural "knee jerk" to want responses. Sometimes we get them. Other times we don't. Such is life.
Again, she's a beauty!!! Keep on posting her.
Take care,
John

It's just hard to know if I am going in the right direction sometimes. I certainly don't want to breed something no one wants and I can't afford to keep too many non-breeding pet boas, as I don't have that kind of room. I want to be true to what I like, but not blindly so.

But, so long as somebody wants to keep seeing her, I will continue to post pics of her.

She's come a long way...

Almost makes me afraid to sell my normal looking babies.

I would be proud to buy her offspring. I would also love to see a sunlit shot without the flash taking all her orange away too. There will always be a few people that like an extrordinary animal regardless of everything else.

She's absolutly gorgeouse. You should breed her to a coral.I think that's what you call a low expression coral. What I LOVE the most about her is her head. She has that long suri shovel shaped head.I've turned down buying some really intense corals because they had wierd short face big eyes.I'm way picky like that.Wierd I know you said before she wasn't coral bloodline but it really looks kool.

She really doesn't have coral in her. No pinks or reds of any kind. Just a nice peachy-orange. I might try breeding her to a coral for one breeding, just to see what comes of it, but I would need to do a loan or something for that. I really want to breed her to a very orange stripe line male. Because I would love to see a version of her with bright orange saddles. But, I don't have a nice enough stripe line male either, so...until then, I will either breed her to my DH Sunglow or my DH SquareTail Albino next year. It will be hard to decide. What would she do to a Sunglow? Have to wonder if she wouldn't ruin a sunglow...since contrast looks so nice in a sunglow..

She won't be ready until next year...but, if you've still a mind to when the time comes, it is definitely something to talk about.

It is nice to know that I am not the only one that likes her oddballness. It just makes figuring out what to breed her to a little more difficult, as she doesn't fall into an albino type, other than being a Kahl.
