***Need Help finding information***

James75 Mar 21, 2006 09:37 PM

Hi All...

I'm doing a report for school and need help finding some information. I'm looking for "Demographic Profile of Reptile Owners" in the USA. I'm not asking anyone to do my work for me just point me in the right direction. The stuff I've found on the net is pretty dated going back to 1997. If anyone knows were to look it would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance,
James McElroy

The American Pet Product Manufacturers Association puts out a pretty in debt annual report on pets (extensive reptile report included). Costs about $900 or $600 for students. It's got some interesting findings, if you get a chance to look at it.

that I seem to remember seeing some info on pet keeping for various sub groups of pets published in. I don't know if they broke it down far enough for your purposes. But try Pet Product News, Pet Business, Pet Age, and a couple others that I can't remember the names of right now, to see if they might have some annual summaries of pets in America that might help you.

I do remember that they had some statistics on numbers of households that owned cats, dogs, birds, herps, etc. So you could at least do some comparisons.

Hope it helps.
