Man, I feel dumb; don't do this....image and more

Well, this is a good and bad story; but don't worry, everyone is still alive. I had my first hatchling today, which is very, very cool, but I have a problem. This egg is the ONLY one that I didn't label in the box as to whom the parents are. I have stickers on the lids that say when and who laid each and every egg, but this one. I can say with 100% certainty that it's either TangerineXHigh Yellow, or 100% Het Blizzard...not too good of odds, huh? Or, could it be Baldy Super Hypo Carrot TailXHypo Tangerine? Dang.

Moral of this story - Keep track of ALL your eggs if you have more than one breeding going on.

Oh well, I can raise it up to see if it fills in with tangerine or carrot tail, but I'd think it would show a little bit of those by now. I could also raise it up to breed to my blizzard male to 'test' for it's heterozygous-ness.

I feel your pain. I have a hatchling that is either triple het(albino, giant, blizzard) or complete normal. It was laid while I was on vacation and I think my pet sitter mixed them up.

adding some new blood into a line is a good thing. Might end up making some really pretty blizzard hets that way.
