6 watt heat tape

thesuccubiniche Mar 22, 2006 08:00 PM

Where is the best place to find 6 watt heat tape? Does it matter to use 6 compared to 10 for a hatchling rack?

You can order flexwatt from the beanfarm or big apple herp.

I would just buy the 3" tape, wattage doesn't really matter as you should have it hooked to a PROPORTIONAL thermostat or at least a dimmer. The thermostat or dimmer will dial back the power used to get to the ideal temp.

Yeah, 3 is better for smaller containers. snake people use 6" for huge containers.

I have 3" under 12 quart sterilite containers. any thing more and they won't be able to thermoregulate.
