Questions for anyone that feeds quail

I am wondering about salmonella. Do I have to worry about that? I just started raising quail and feeding them to my snakes. So far I have been feeding off any that die or that did not come out of the egg. Of course all that I have feed were dead for no more that a couple of hours. Thanks for your time.

I never had problems feeding hard boiled eggs or poultry. But for one I don't do it often. Next they are deficient in bone density among other things like feathers so that's why I would rather go for rodents. The poultry is just something else to add to the diet to keep it varied.
