Ozone generators

wlamore Mar 23, 2006 02:38 PM

I got some feedback on the exhaust fans and Flair air purifies but I have seen several units that are called commercial ozone generators. The argument they give is the Ionic breeze and other "air purifiers" do not produce enough ozone to kill odors and harmfull pollutents. However, they warning specifies, for use in "unoccupied space" that is the High setting a lower one is okay for "occupied space".

Has anyone had any problems with to much ozone in reptile room. Apparently it can cause some damage to living creatures if it is to high.

I once used one of the "Living Air" units and I liked the adjustable ozone output, but have since stopped using it, as I feel the new UV sterilizers are equally effective and do not produce a harmful amount of ozone.
While the UV sterilizer, in conjunction with a HEPA filter, neutralize airborne odor in the room, it does not have the “thunderstorm” smell I once noticed with the ionizer…

Best regards,

Jeff
